A Book of Condolence for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is now open at Great Dunmow Town Council offices:

Foakes House, 47 Stortford Road, Dunmow, CM6 1DG.

The Book will be available to sign between 9am-5pm from Monday-Friday. All are welcome.

Books of Condolence can also be found in the Town Library and St Mary’s Church.

The Garden of Remembrance is now officially open for floral tributes to Her Majesty.

It is with great sadness that Great Dunmow Town Council hears of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and offers its sincerest condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family.

Throughout her exceptional reign, Queen Elizabeth was a source of great inspiration to the people of the United Kingdom and The Commonwealth. From tomorrow, Books of Condolence will be available at the Council Offices, Foakes House and Great Dunmow Town Library.

Flower tributes may be placed at a memorial on Talberds Ley to the side of Foakes Hall, Dunmow.

Apply now for an Active Uttlesford Grant

Uttlesford District Council is making grants available to support new projects or activities that help people to get more physically active or recover from the effects of Covid-19.

The Active Uttlesford Grant scheme is open to constituted groups and clubs, registered charities, voluntary or community organisations, and not-for-profit companies or community interest companies.

The scheme will be open until all of the £10,000 annual grant fund has been allocated.

Grants up to £1,500 are available.

Learn to catch fish – 10am on Sunday 7th & 14th August 2022

Great Dunmow Town Council, in association with the Dunmow Piscatorial Society, are delighted to announce FREE training sessions for anglers under 16 at the Doctor’s Pond.

A short teaching session will be followed by hands-on training from top local anglers.

*** You may bring your own fishing gear and bait ***

It doesn’t matter how good your gear is, but you will probably need to bring your own rod and line or pole and bait.

If you don’t have any, don’t worry – we will be able to lend you something.

Our experts will help you get the best from your gear, catch more and teach you how to handle fish properly.
