WELCOME

Great Dunmow is an ancient market town in north-west Essex with an estimated population (2011) of 8,830. The Town Council consists of 18 members: 9 representing the North Ward and 9 for the South Ward.

Extensive public open spaces are administered by the Council, as well as the E.T. Foakes Memorial Hall, the Dourdan Pavilion and other buildings.

The Town Council actively defends, promotes and represents Great Dunmow – we are working hard to ensure the town motto of May Dunmow Prosper continues to be a reality in the future.

MAYOR’S MESSAGE

I am pleased and honoured to have been elected to represent the residents of Dunmow and the Town Council as Mayor.

The last year was very difficult for everyone and our focus for this year will be on managing the emergence from lockdown and rebuilding the vibrant and welcoming community in Dunmow that makes the town such a great place to live, work and play.

There will be a varied programme of activities taking place in the town during the year so please keep an eye on the council website to see what is coming up.

Whilst the town is developing and expanding your Council will continue to work to maintain the friendly environment and social spirit of our historic market town.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at the various activities and events that will be happening in and around our town this year and

May Dunmow Prosper.

Patrick Lavelle – Mayor
