Supporting people with disabilities to vote on Thursday 4th May 2023
The Electoral Commission has produced two useful guides to support voters which you can find by clicking on the following links:
- Voter ID: supporting blind and partially sighted people to vote in the 2023 English local elections
- Voter ID: easy read guide for people with learning disabilities
They have also provided videos in British Sign Language about the voting process including registering, types of ID, applying for a Voter Authority Certificate and what will happen at the polling stations.

UK SHARED PROSPERITY FUND
UK Shared Prosperity Fund – call for year 2 projects
Uttlesford District Council are now seeking applications for projects to be delivered during year 2 of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which runs up to 31 March 2024.
UDC has been allocated £219,617 for delivery of projects in year 2 and they are looking for both capital and revenue projects.
Year 2 applications need to fall within the following priority interventions:
Communities and Place
E6 – Support for local arts, cultural, heritage and creative activities
E11 – Investment in capacity building and infrastructure support for local civil society and community groups
Supporting Local Business
E16 – Investment in open markets and improvements to town centre retail and service sector infrastructure, with wraparound support for small businesses

Any organisation interested in submitting a project application should email UKSPF@uttlesford.gov.uk for an application form which needs to be submitted before 12 noon on 15 May 2023.
Submitted project applications will be assessed at the May meeting of the Local Partnership Group.

LOCAL BUSES UPDATE JAN 2023
A meeting was held and news was passed from Essex County Council Transport Liaison Officers to Great Dunmow Town Council.
Great Dunmow Town Council would prefer to act as an intermediary between Dunmow residents and Essex County Council Transport Liaison Officers for concise communication.
A Planning and Transport Committee meeting is being held on Thursday 26th January 2023 at 6.30pm at the Foakes Hall, Stortford Road, Great Dunmow, CM6 1DG and is open to the public.
