Dear Friends,
In the light of the new and rising coronavirus situation, I am wondering if you might need the support of Care For Your Neighbours again?
In the initial outbreak, we did whatever we thought people needed which caused a certain amount of client dependency as well as being labour intensive.
Now we have had time to reflect on what is going on, it may be prudent for us to take on a more supportive role and have a more centralised coordination system. This would save duplication of activities and help support the community more efficiently.
Kim from CVSU is working together with Colin Parker and Caroline Patching to collect and deliver prescriptions which seems to be working but may need reinforcements if the situation changes.
I am wondering if you need us to help in any way, we would prefer not to do the shopping as people seem to be self-sufficient, but if needed we can ask the volunteers if they can help again.
If you can think of how we can support you then we can discuss this, please feel free to email me at johnwrightgb@gmail.com (preferred) or give me a call on 07715 633387.
We have a limited web presence at careforyourneighbours.com – if you have any suggestions that may enhance this then let me know, e.g. information, advice, links or any other available support?
I have acquired some old laptops that will be wiped and a new operating system installed so these may be useful to anyone who is unable to go out but can be used for shopping orders and communication. Let me know if there is anyone who might need one.
John Wright
